Hemos estado hace unosfines de semana, la verdad es que todo nos ha encantado, la pena ha sido el tiempo tan malo que tuvimos, pero en cuanto al Hotel ,maravilloso, todo, no sabreía con que quedarme, bueno sí, con que me volviesen a regalar un fin de semana. Estivemos no hotel Urune por duas noites e ficamos encantados com o hotel. O entorno é belíssimo, a antiga casa perfeitamente restaurada e o quarto bastante confortável. O staff foi muito acolhedor e prestativo. Realmente, uma experiencia que eu recomendo. Localizado a aproximadamente uma hora de Bilbao, o hotel proporciona uma experiência relaxante no campo apos um dia de visitas. Gostamos também do conceito de slow travel que caiu bem depois de uma temporada em Madrid e Barcelona. De lá fomos visitar Bilbao, fomos a um Assador a 40 min dali, e depois seguimos para San Sebastian.
We stayed for 5 days and there was nothing to fault about this hotel at all. The owner, Alberto, his family and staff were extremely welcoming and very helpful. Our room was perfect with sufficient space with good firm beds and pillows. The ensuite was also a good size. The location and venue totally exceeded our expectations – especially at that price! Would highly recommend Urune Hotela for its setting, beautiful interior and exceptional people. Nothing was a problem for them and they went out of their way to make our stay as relaxing and comfortable as possible. Should be a 5 star! Whilst you definitely need a car to explore the countryside and numerous villages and towns (both inland and on the coast), it is also possible to park the car in Guernica (for free at the public car park) and catch the train to Bilbao (5 euros return per person, takes 1 hour) – worth it if you are visiting the Guggenheim. Or catch the train in the opposite direction and travel alongside the beautiful marsh area and coastline to the town of Bermeo for a stroll around and pintxo’s in one of the numerous tavernas on the square – journey takes 20 mins. A visit to the Peace Museum in Guernica is worth the money and gives a full account of the bombing which took place in 1939. Market day in Guernica is Monday and it is also worth the visit. The tourist information offices are amazing – so much information available for free and the staff speak good English – we visited a couple of them in the Basque area and received the same service at each. Can recommend the restaurant Remenetxe, Barrio Ugarte, 5, 48392 Ugarte (on the left hand side of the main road going towards Guernica from the hotel) – amazing wine collection and excellent service.

Urune Hotel is in a stunning location and is a beautifully restored Basque farmhouse. The staff are helpful. The rooms are clean and modern. Although there is no choice of menu in the evening they were very accommodating with regard to my wife being a vegetarian. The food was fresh and simple but delicious. We loved the tranquil setting of the hotel; the sound of cowbells, the rural views all around but still only a short drive from Guernica. The beaches are close and not overly busy and there are great walks around. We walked a day on the Camino and enjoyed the market and cafes etc in Guernica. Overall we had a relaxing and interesting stay in this family run, friendly hotel.

We had a great stay at Urune – 3 nights – 2 adults and 2 kids. A beautiful and peaceful place to be and a really interesting area. We recommend the Peace museum in Guernica and Laga beach. Also worth using the train service up to Bermea too. Best thing about Urune were the staff who were just lovely – so helpful and nice to deal with and they created a really unique atmosphere. Would definitely go back.

This was a fantastic place to stay, a little gem in the mountains. A great place to escape from the busy rush of life and just wish I had stayed longer. The owners are so nice and very proud of their business. I would highly recommend it and would go back.

Nos alojamos 5 noches en el hotel y fue un privilegio de estar allí. A finales de octubre es temporada baja, pero nunca nos hicieron sentir incómodos. Hotel está situado fuera del circuito turístico en una zona rural, pero Guernica, Bilbao y San Sebastián están a poca distancia. El hotel ha sido renovado recientemente y nos quedamos impresionados fue galardonado con dos estrellas ya que las habitaciones, instalaciones, desayuno, etc. eran excelentes. El personal es muy amable y servicial, y nos dio buenos consejos sobre cosas que hacer. Como se enteraron que eran vegetarianos pudieron proporcionarnos excelentes opciones de comida.
El encanto de la zona es la zona en general, con pequeños pueblos y un hermoso entorno natural. Nos hizo disfrutar de las excelentes senderos para caminar por las colinas, que estaban bien marcados y seguido (parcialmente) el viejo vías de varios cientos de años atrás.

Llegamos al sitio por casualidad, y bendita casualidad, Urune es una lugar ideal, de alguna manera alejado de la ciudad pero a la vez muy cerca. Estar allí te permite olvidarte de todas tus preocupaciones, respiras aire puro, disfrutas de la tranquilidad y el paisaje, para nosotros fue genial, era lo que necesitábamos.

Somos un grupo de 4 parejas que hemos disfrutado el fin de semana en este maravilloso Hotel, su entorno incomparable, su situación, estratégicamente ubicado para recorrer la zona, la calidad del servicio exquisita, el confort y diseño de las habitaciones perfecto.
Muy recomendable, volveremos.
Este fin de semana pasado hemos acudido por cuestiones de trabajo y no hemos podido disfrutar del encanto de la casa y de su entorno. Simplemente con decir que estamos deseando volver (esta vez en plan de ocio) creo que queda todo dicho.
